New! More DAX with SUMX (and how to build a bar chart)
Happy Thursday! This week we’re learning a bit more DAX by exploring the SUMX function. It’s a function that can be totally confusing if someone can’t explain it well to you (that’s why you have me). How’s it the same as SUM? How’s it different?
Learn the basics of SUMX and why it helps your reports be more efficient.
Next Week: When label spacing fails
As powerful as Power BI is, I’ve lost count of the number of really basic visual formatting things it does NOT do well (and these are things it SHOULD do well, as Microsoft bills it as a Data Visualization program).
All these things are great to be aware of so you can hack and design your way around them so that your charts and visuals look good and you’re not stuck with what Power BI tries to give you.
Next week we’re exploring when it can’t recognize it has to make space for labels (and what to do about it).
From the Archives:
You can always check out the How To Use Power BI Archives. Our archives this week is a basic one, but a good one… how to make a Bar Chart.
Take care everyone,
Joe.
